Day 1 - Friday 7/1/05 - Arrival
After a smooth flight from JAX to IAD my plane was delayed in IAD, I then waited until my flight to BTV showed up. After arriving in BTV I make my way out through the gates and look to see if I have passed security, well lest to say I didn't see security. After walking a bit and getting to check in, I retrace my steps to see if I have passed [livejournal.com profile] zytx and didn't see him so I keep going. I finally see him ahead of me.
I thought I had missed her, so I stood up at noon & waited by the huge depart/arrival board thingy. Mavy found me ok tho.
We go to the car and drive from Burlington, where all I see are hills, cows and crops. I'm not used to hills cows and crops.
Vermont's a hilly place. :)
Anyways, we get home and I set my stuff up in the front room, I notice the cats. I put my blue blanket in Zeeb's room. We then go to set up the tent. It's an easy 3 step process +4 of course. After reading the directions we get the tent up with rain guard. We then go to eat dinner, it was hamburgers and hotdogs...mmmm, hotdogs. Sometime goes by and we get to sleep.
Getting home was fun. I finally got to talk with the fun dragon n' stuffs. The tent was easy to set up in reality. I hope she slept ok the first night, as I had tried to find the smoothest place in my 'field' to put the tent. Digging the fire pit was easy too, altho a bit funny. ;)

Day 2 - Saturday 7/2/05 - Redneckville
Accounted here:
http://www.livejournal.com/users/maverynthia/133667.html
I still feel sorta bad about her first day up here. I never meant to drag her up into the Vermont Redneck areas. I must remember to kill Chad later.

Day 3 - Sunday 7/3/05 - Marvin's and Smores
Get up the usual way, and to day is a trip to the private train yard of Marvin. We ge there and pick up some hot chocolate, while we are there we meet Marvin who is gassing up his vehicle. He's going to Bar Harbor Maine. He tells us the place is open and something about a cannon on a hill. We continue onto the yard, only to find it locked up. That's when we go looking for cannon street and Jim and Frenchy. We find them and they are working on some project, we tell them the situation and Frenchy leads the way back to the yard. We get in and he gives us a history lesson of some of the things and the Heisler that's sitting "up on blocks" being worked on. I get to see inside the front. Frenchy rings the bell for us and then leaves. We explore the yard some more and I get to climb on some stuff. Eventually we got back to the workshop and eat lunch and talk. After this we visit Crazy John and invite him over. ( >_> ) Time passes and we get the campfire going, or re-going as John's trying to both set himself on fire and kill the campfire. We toast some marshmallows, set off some rockets and try to make smores, however it was a it hot and the chocolate had a tendancy to melt in your hands. John and his kid eventually leave and we turn in for the night. I might want to add the I've never lighted up anyting bigger than a sparkler before.
The trip to Marvin's was uneventful. Just a long 2 hour drive. The heisler locomotive is ready to go, but appears to be 'on blocks' because of all the junk shoved under & around it. After Frenchy left, we had an enjoyable lunch together, lazing in the shade inside the shop. We talked for abut 3 hours, before Jim showed up to lock up. When we came back here, here being home, we got the Smore ingredients. I was being nice to Crazy John, & invited him over. His kid came with him. She's supposedily 9, looks 12, & much like the mother, is terribly obese. Mavy got some good videos & pictures of the nights firework display. I have my own photos to post of Mavy lighting up some of our 'arsenal' :) My neighbor put on his own show, launching 'mortars' too. After Crazy John left, I enjoyed some time by the fire with Mavy. Love talking with her as she's unlike anyone else I know of. :)

Day 4 - Monday 7/4/05 - Fireworks
Most places were closed and thus we set off some of our rockets and watch the neighbor set off some of his.
No John today thankfully. Lazed about the house & snuggled by the fire :)

Day 5 - Tuesday 7/5/05 - Shopping
We go to the local shops in the morning and then to Burlington Mall at night. I find a set of the Dragon Tarot in the Hobby shop I don't find a whole lot else other than overpriced merchandise. In the game store Zeeby buys me a Nightmare shirt ^_^ It's cool. In the mall we check a few shops, I hop into EB to see if they have "Fantastic Island" for me cube. They don't, but we look at the games on the wall. I buy the Promathia Expansion for $10 and the Locomotion game for $5. Yay! Zeeby picks up a ton of other stuff. We then go to KB and they don't have any new ponies, however they DO have the new Tamagotchi V2s and I snag a dark clear blue one with the purple buttons. I snag it and we turn the corner to find the new McFarlane dragon statue series, Oooooooooooooooo me wants, but they don't have the one I want. Zeeby wants to buy them both for me. T.T I don't want to be a leech. He gets them for me anyways. They are cool and waiting to be shipped. We go home and then go to sleep.
Local shopping was cool. I've not been up 'in town' for a long time. In the AD&D gaming store, Mavy found this very cool Nightmare Equine shirt. I picked up the tab because I like her :) In EB, I found alot of games that I 'used' to have before the 'brother' incident.
Kill him!
In KB, somehow a rather large bill slipped into her hand *innocent look* & got her some cool dragon stuffs :) I keep reassuring her that she's not a leech, & that I don't want to be repaid. I like the Mavy :) Enough said :)

Day 6 - Wednesday 7/6/05 - Railroad tour
We go and meet Jim at the local railyard he takes is on a tour of the dispatching stations and then onto the tour of the roundhousein the railyard. There I got to go on an engine that was on and sit in the driver's seat. :D So many things touch. That was cool. We then go into the roundhouse where they are doing all the work, we get some hardhats and look at all the cool trains. I also get to see one of those heavy crane things that can lift 30 tons. I also see some of the behind the scenes of train deconstuction. We leave from there and then go look at rains on the tracks, we take pictures and stuff. We could get up close since we had these release forms.
The train yard touring stuffs went well too. The weather was perfect. I didn't expect to be allowed into the locomotive, a surprise that I found out Jim set up for us. I got several photos of Mavy in the engineer's seat. I'll post those later too :)

Day 7 - Thursday 7/7/05 - Train store
We head off to Alan's Train Store to see if he's in. He says he'll be back at 3:15 so we got to K-mart to look for the ponies. We take a trip through K-mart, they have no new ponies...they have no ponies at all! So we wander around through the aisles and find some cool stuff. They have these RC Hot Wheels cars, some Mega Bloks Dragons and some other random stuff. I want one of them dragon eggs The one with the black and red shell, I think it was the Smoke dragon (they also have ones with armor too...mmmm...Copper Armor). We then pick up some candy and on the way out I notice some goldfish figures in the 25c vending machine. Ooohhh...they are cute and somewhat detailed. I don't have any change, but Zeeby gives me some from the car. (There's a whole hoard of it) I get some of the cute fishies, though I'd like more, I'll see if my K-mart has them. They are cool, I got some orandas a lionhead and some other's I can't identify right off. I'd like to trade some extras if anybody has some. After my moment of sqealing glee we head off the train shop. Alan is in and we enter, introduction are to be had and [livejournal.com profile] zytx get's down to buisness. We then discuss N-scale starter sets and me getting one. I look through the catalog and find a nice small cheap one, Thunder Valley (http://www.djhobby.com/catalog/images/BAC24013.jpg). After this [livejournal.com profile] zytx and Alan talk trains, I look about the shop. After this we head home and go to sleep.
Yes, I entered the 'pink' aisle without complaint. :) Even helped Mavy look for stuff. :) On the way out, she noticed a goldfish capsule machine thingy, so when we got to the car, I gave her a handful of quarters from my cupholder. Yes, it 'is' quite a hoard. Mostly pennies, with some silver tossed in :) Getting her started in railroading too. Hope she likes the railway set :)
I want to add to this comment that I've had problems with a certain Misogynistic asshole in the past that thinks he's a Scotsman. He won't enter the 'pink aisle' nor will he even get female sanitary products if she really needs them. Even Bill Engvall the redneck will buy those.

Day 8 - Friday 7/8/05 - Work and Train Store
This day I get to see where Zeeby works and what was ordered at the train store. Work was nice, though all of them seem the typical car salesman type. I feel a few were holding back comments and some didn't really like us. After this we go back to the train store where Zeeby picks up his tiny $250 train. *pokes train* I think it's limited edition or something. I find out that the Thunder Valley is in stock. After this we get home and it's off to dinner at Nana's. It's the fanciest place in St. Albans. They have all sorts of stuff I wanted to eat. Though because I had a tuna sammich for lunch I couldn't finish my fries T.T We took them home. I also had a tuna sammich for dinner too.
I picked up a bachmann 2 truck Climax logging locomotive. Limited run. I also took her out to eat. We shouldn't have snacked in the afternoon tho.

Day 9 - Saturday 7/9/05 - Departure
We get up and snuggle for a bit before I have to go in and start packing up. I try to cram it all in a bookbag and a suitcase. The towel doesn't fit, which causes me to put it into another bag I had brought. We leave for the airport and get there, find parking. I go in and of course have to check my suitcase in...:( damn them. We then go to security and sit down and snug some more before it's time for me to leave. I get through security. Then await the arrival of my plane. Flight went OK, I get to IAD and try to find space to set down my stuff before the plane arrives. I saw some religious dude approach me and lay his stuff on the seat next to mine. I eyed his slice of pizza and he went away. I then get on the plane to JAX behind the two squalling parasites and in front of an angry patron who wants to make an issue of the noise. They should all be shot. I get to JAX OK check in with Zeeby and go home.
This was the hardest part of the trip for me. I didn't want to send her off to the plane, even tho I knew she had to go. It's hard to stand there, say goodbye & hug her tightly. Some things happened this week, & it's changed my life for the better I think. Mavy is truly a wonderful person indeed. It got really hard as she was moving up the gate line towards the security checkpoint. She would look back from time to time, & I was trying to keep a straight face on. After she moved past the gate, & down the hall, I lingered for a few minutes before returning to my car. I didn't leave, but instead sat there till just about time for her plane to take off. As I was leaving the garage, I looked up to see her plane take off into the sky. I paid the parking garage ticket-thingy, & went home. I sat for a long time at home, in the tent thinking about things n' stuff. I would like her to come back....

Hugs the Zeeby
