Arrogance is bliss

Some may call me a cold heartless bastard for this, but I don't feel all that sad for the people in New Orleans and the surrounding area. I guess I feel as humans they could have better prepared themselves. I see it as they could have devised a house that wouldn't have blown away, like a concrete dome or such and that humans need to get away from what is traditional and go for what is logical. A tall wooden box blows away better than rounded concrete. I also figure since the area in question was already needing pumps to keep the water out of the area, that logic should dictate that somehow they should have all been ready for a major flood. But I guess alas humans are too arrogant to think that any of thier plans could go wrong and that the idea of "It won't happen to me/us" is right. I guess I just see that 9/11 special on TV also pisses me off that we (US) also had that arrogant mindset.
Well I better go make sure that a certain person who cares nothing about me and hasn't talked to me in YEARS is still alive....
