You should go by e-bay's suggestions and contact them before leaving negative feedback. (Among other things, they could easily retaliate and leave *you* negative feedback.)
If you genuinely feel cheated, you should contact them (politely) and tell them that: - you feel it's unfair that they're adding the free item now - if you had known that they would add a free model kit, you would have waited for this thing to be listed - would they be willing to send you the model kit for a reduced price (do you even want the model kit? Do you want to BIN the new item and sell the MicroTrailer that you just got, thus recouping your losses?)
In any case, if you make a genuine and well-intentioned attempt to work things out first, you'll have more leverage. I don't know whether people read the feedback that they receive, so contacting them through e-mail is more likely to get their attention and make them understand *why* you're unhappy.
