I was wandering around various communities and found many comments on the "NEW Gospel of Judas!!11". I find it interesting because I saw a History Channel documentary about Jesus' life and about how Judas was Jesus' best disciple and was following the word of the written law at the time to HAND OVER Jesus to the authorities. Jesus certainly didn't want to break the law, else that would render his whole teachings moot as he was a criminal mind. So he had Judas hand him over to the autorities. Also, people rip at the fact that Judas got money for it. When compared to our time, that's not so strange if you think about that aspect. There are many "Crime Hotlines" that will give people a reward for turning in criminals. It was part of the system back then. Also, people tend to foget that Judas commited suicide (I believe), thus he couldn't take the fact that he had to turn his best friend in.
What bothers me is that most religious people (Pastors, Ministers Preists, etc.) are saying that this means nothing. I always thought that Christians were all about the Truth. Chucking this aside certainly isn't espousing the truth at all. I think Chrisitans need to admit they were wrong about the and use him as an example of being true to your faith in someone and not betraying their trust by not doing what they asked. No other diciple would hand Jesus over.
I think Chistians are angry that they lost their scapegoat to crucify. "Judas was bad, Jesus was good!" Judas was the best and Jesus knew that! More Christians should be like Judas and be true to Jesus, not some pastor somewhere spitting out hate and intolerance and other filth.
Also, on a somewhat related note. I found out that the original translation of "And thou shalt not suffer a witch to live" was actually "Thou shalt not suffer a poisoner to live." Considering how many religious officials nowadays poison people's minds, I think it's time to start the cleansing! Of course I could go on about the people that poison the enviroment and people that poison other people in murders and such.
Of course this is through the many 'adaptations' rather than 'translations' as many people in the anime world know that an adaptation is NOT a translation. Translating is involved, but a LOT MORE change of that translation is als involved. Like Pokemon's adaptation...onigiri were changed to donuts and later painted over as sandwiches. It's like painting the image of god over with the image of the flying spaghetti monster.
